Octomill™ 06 Octomill™ size 06 is a new generation and evolution of Seco’s Octomill™ size 05 and 07 based on a OF-style design. The new generation Octomill™ 06 tackles the major challenge of single-sided inserts, which is an easy and secured insert handling. Explore the favorable single-sided characteristics as cutting behavior together with a comparable handling of a double-sided solution. Octomill™ 06 combines the strength and overcomes the weakness of common OF- and OD-style solutions. It combines the light cutting behavior of an OF- and the cutting edge strength/robustness of an OD-style solutions. Still Octomill™ size 07 offers a key strength based on the wedge clamping option and the thinner inserts compared to new generation size 06. This allows close and super close cutter pitches as well as a fast insert indexing. This is beneficial for bigger cutter diameters and typically from interest for block and sheet machining applications.
