DoAL~s Friction Band Saw Blade for friction sawing of ferrous metals on vertical machines at band speeds of 5000 fpm (1524 m/min) or higher. The DoALL Friction Band Saw Blade
being cut more than 0.002 in. from the finish cut and will cut rapidly and distortion free many thin walled parts, tubes and channels. Care should be taken in all friction sawing applications to adequately protect
the operator from sparks, chips and accidental blade breakage. Use the chart below to select the Friction saw blade that's right for your applications.
offers these benefits- ■ Lowest cost per cut
• Cuts the nonmachinables • Straight or contour cutting • Second machining operations reduced ■ Annealing of material not required ■ Welded sections easily cut The first true Friction blade DoALL Company developed the first true Friction carbon alloy saw blade. Friction saw blade is made from "special" alloy steel with high fatigue resistant qualities and is then heat treated to resist heavy feeding pressure and flexing. The cutting edge is heat treated to give max- imum wear resistance at high saw- ing velocities and its teeth are set heavier to increase heat buildup and maintain proper clearance for the back of the band. The result is a blade that will deliver long produc- tive life. For materials one inch and under, with hardness up to 60 Re Friction sawing is the fastest, lowest cost per cut machining method for application within its scope. Friction sawing performs jobs impossible by other machining methods on har- dened or difficult-to-cut ferrous materials such as stainless steel, ar- mor plate or other materials har- dened up to 60 Re. Nonmachinables are readily cut to shape and finished to size. In friction sawing, the material directly ahead of the saw band is softened by heat built up by the fric- tion induced from the high saw band velocity and heavy feed force. The teeth remove the softened material in molten form. Designed for band velocities to 15,000 fpm (4568 m/min) Friction saw blade is primarily designed for operation on sawing machines that have at least 26-in. (635 mm)-diameter wheels (36-in. (914 mm)-wheel preferred) with saw band velocities up to 15,000 fpm. The low heat penetration from friction sawing does not harden the piece
Stainless steel wire brushes are being trimmed concentric with the DoALL Friction Band Saw Blade.
