FIBER
The nonwoven web technology from Scotch-Brite ™ is made with nylon that has been soaked in resin and abrasive mineral. The fibers and particles are bound together to form an open, three-dimensional structure. This construction provides spring-like action, which helps the product conform and bounce back without leaving an uneven finish. Whether hand pads, discs, wheels or belts, the material is consistent all the way through. This means new abrasive mineral is exposed while you work, helping to extend the life of your abrasive product so that you can keep producing consistent finishes.

Silicon Carbide is a synthetic mineral that is very sharp with a narrow shape, which wears down faster and is commonly used for low-pressure applications. Aluminum Oxide is exceedingly durable, providing long life as the mineral breaks down at a slower rate — commonly used for a wide range of applications. 3M Precision-Shaped Grain is a triangular-shaped ceramic grain that is designed with sharp, angular structures that continuously fracture to form new sharp cutting edges.

Always wear ANSI Z87+ approved face shield. Safety goggles should always be worn with a face shield. Do not wear a face shield alone. Protect your eyes, ears and lungs. Always wear ANSI Z87+ approved face shield. Safety goggles and EPA labeled hearing protection and NIOSH approved respirators.
Always check to make sure the tool or machine does not run faster than the maximum operating speed (Max. RPM) of the consumable (disc, wheel, belt) or when applicable, the backup pad accessory. Certain Scotch-Brite ™ Nonwoven Abrasives do not have a speed rating. Therefore, the Max. RPM of the backup pad should be used. Always use proper backup pads with discs. Select a back up pad that is compatible with and the same size as the disc being used.
